Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Reviews
Full review of the horror exploration game Wraith: The Oblivion - Afterlife from Fast Travel Games on PSVR. https://youtu.be/2vwTjlTX2Tc Wraith The Oblivion Afterlife from Fast Travel Games, aside from having possibly one of the more confusing titles in recent gaming history, submerges you into a world of darkness and tasks you with solving the mystery of your own death, but is it scarily good or dead on arrival? Let’s find out. Firstly many thanks to the developer for providing me with a review key for the game but as always the opinions presented here are entirely my own. Fast Travel previously bought us the sci-fi based Apex Construct and the adorable Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets, but with Wraith they’re taking us into the horror genre. This is a part of the World ...
NeonHAT PSVR | Review (1080p60)

NeonHAT PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Reviews
A full review of the futuristic, neon-soaked, synthwave racer NeonHAT from Entalto Studios on PSVR. https://youtu.be/b_UtOiHqtq8 NeonHAT from developer Entalto Studios lets you race through neon-drenched, vaporwave style landscapes from a unique first-person perspective like Superman enjoying a round of Wipeout on his day off, but does it take first place on the podium or is it last to cross the finish line? First off I must say a big thanks to the developer for providing me with a review key for this game, but as always the opinions here are all my own. The game was created in conjunction with the PS Talents initiative, bringing us new games from emerging talent in the scene and with that in mind NeonHAT is certainly not a bad first attempt from an upcoming studio. T...

Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Reviews
Full review of Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey from Survios on PSVR. The first instalment of Taito's classic series to appear on VR. https://youtu.be/QqV13h-B9ZQ Puzzle Bobble VR from Survios brings the classic match-3 bubble action to VR for the first time, but has it translated well, or has the bubble burst? First off, big thanks to the developer for providing me with a review key for this game but as always the opinions presented here are entirely my own. I’ve been a Puzzle Bobble fan for a long time, and a Bubble Bobble fan for even longer. For anyone who somehow doesn’t know, the basic aim is to fire bubbles of various colours at a wall of other bubbles and match the colours to make them burst. Puzzle Bobble has traditionally been presented in 2D and by shifti...
Winds & Leaves PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Winds & Leaves PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Reviews
A full review of the atmospheric PSVR exclusive Winds & Leaves from Trebuchet. https://youtu.be/y7J-lb9P7-U Winds & Leaves from developer Trebuchet is advertised as a flora builder, but what exactly does that mean and why should you be interested? First of all, thanks to the developer for providing me with a review key for this game but as always the opinions here are my own. When I first heard of this game I was very curious. The name gives very little away, and the term flora builder gives the impression that it’s some kind of gardening simulator. However, this is hugely underselling what is actually quite a profound and highly original experience. In Winds and Leaves you’re dropped into the middle of a barren landscape and more or less left to your own devi...

Fracked PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Reviews
A full review of the explosive PSVR exclusive Fracked from nDreams. https://youtu.be/bI90NZPfhg8 The PSVR exclusive Fracked drops you into the role of reluctant hero in the middle of an adventure ripped straight out of the pages of a comic book crossed with the best bits from every 80s action movie you’ve ever seen. Big thanks to the developer, nDreams, for providing me with a review key for the game, but as ever all opinions here are my own. Without wasting any time you start off high up in the mountains not quite knowing who you are or what you’re doing there. There’s no lengthy introduction explaining everything, instead you gradually piece the story together along the way through various conversations and discoveries, with some things left for you to fill in the blan...

Synth Riders PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Reviews
Full review of the PSVR version of rhythm action game Synth Riders from Kluge Interactive. https://youtu.be/I45VcTRaQ2o Let me just say right now, if you’re a fan of well-produced rhythm games, or you’re just here to find out if this is a good PSVR conversion, then stop this video right now and go buy Synth Riders. It is awesome and you will not be disappointed. I could leave it there and make this the shortest review ever but in case some of you are still hanging on for more details then let me give you the lowdown. I must say thanks to the developer Kluge Interactive for providing me with a review key for the game, but as always the opinions here are entirely my own. Synth Riders, for anyone who somehow doesn’t already know, is a rhythm action game that’s been availabl...
Rhythm ‘n Bullets PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Rhythm ‘n Bullets PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Reviews
Full review of the PSVR version of bullet-hell shoot 'em up Rhythm 'n Bullets from DB Creations. https://youtu.be/Xswej3AduKU Rhythm ‘n Bullets drops you into a wireframe shoot ‘em up slash bullet-hell world where your mission is to defend the core from attack by using two ships to dodge bullets and shoot the approaching enemies. I can confirm it contains both rhythm and bullets so it certainly lives up to its name but let me go into a bit more detail. First though, thanks to the developers DB Creations for providing me with a review key for the game but as always the opinions presented here are my own. There’s no particular back-story to explain so I’ll jump straight into the gameplay. It’s a fairly straightforward concept, although with a few challenging twists. You...
1976 Back to Midway PSVR | Review (1080p60)

1976 Back to Midway PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Reviews
Full review of the PSVR version of retro-inspired, top-down shooter 1976 Back to Midway from Ivanovich Games. https://youtu.be/Q6yv40BK55U I'll start this review by saying that I'm old enough to remember Capcom’s classic arcade game 1942 and its various sequels, so for me 1976 Back to Midway instantly benefits from a certain nostalgic charm. Your mileage may vary depending on how much you remember, or don't remember, the original arcade classics and how much fondness you have for the top-down shoot ‘em up genre as a whole. Before I go on, I must say a big thanks to the developer, Ivanovich Games, for providing me with a review key for this game, but as always I guarantee that all opinions are my own. In a clever twist, quite possibly to avoid various licensing issues, yo...
Boxed In PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Boxed In PSVR | Review (1080p60)

Reviews
Full review of the match-3 style puzzle shooter Boxed In for PSVR, from Red Chain Games. https://youtu.be/uaBPr2ibUSs Boxed In, from Red Chain Games, is a match 3 game with a difference. This time rather than being an outside observer you're in the room, even more so in the VR mode, faced with a wall of different coloured blocks quite literally closing in on you. If you're familiar with 3D Tetris games like Welltris, then imagine that crossed with something like Puzzle Bobble and you'll be on the right track. For full disclosure, I was provided with a key for this game from the developer but all opinions are my own. The game supports both flat screen and VR modes, but for this review I'm concentrating mainly on the VR mode. The flat screen mode is serviceable, but relies...
